Sample 1969 Psych-Jazz Recorded by a Math Teacher

Named after an old Detroit blues album, Hasting's Street Opera only released one record: the private press release 'Slippery When Wet.' A rare gem from 1969 which was recorded at home by their math teacher, inspired by psychedelic music, jazz-rock, blues, and Jethro Tull's flute playing.

"Unknown until now US private pressing from 1969. Underground psychedelic electric jazz-rock, improv sound, mellow folk-rock moves, and a homemade basement atmosphere."

"'Slippery When Wet' was recorded in 1969 at Don's house using a portable recorder operated by their math teacher, the famous old-time music preserver Charles Faurot. It was a vanity pressing of less than 100 copies, housed in hand-made covers which were distributed among friends and family."
