INSTRUCTIONS

What do I need to do to enter?

1. Start your free trial
To enter this competition, you need to download a song to sample on Tracklib. You can use your free 3-day trial to do so - cancel at any time. After your trial ends (if you haven't canceled), you will get one month of full access to Tracklib for the symbolic price of $1. This is a never-done-before offer we came up with so you can try out the full Tracklib experience for the low.

2. Pick any song on Tracklib to sample
From classic records to unknown gems, from the 1960s to the 2010s, from Brazil to Japan—we got it. For many of the songs, you can even access the original multitracks, such as acappellas. Use our filters in the Songs section to narrow down what you're looking for. Need inspiration? Check our recommendations at the bottom of this page.

3. Sample the song to create your track
Sample one of the songs you picked out: loop it up, reverse it, chop it into pieces, or go for a combination—it's completely up to you. You can watch our Sample Breakdown video covering the most iconic electronic samples from 1990 to 2024 as inspiration.

4. Complete your track
You may complete your track with any royalty-free sounds, any software you own, or record something of your own. If you want, you can use Tracklib's Sounds section for this: a complete library of royalty-free one-shots, loops, and FX—which you get access to for just $1 as part of this competition.

5. Submit your track
Make sure your submission follows all the rules, and then submit your track right here on Tracklib. It's free to submit and only takes a minute.

6. Stay tuned for the announcement of the winner...
Once you've entered, you might want to follow Tracklib's socials and Ninja Tune's socials to stay updated. We're on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook. The competition winner will be announced in March 2025 via our newsletter, on all social channels, and on this page.

What type of track do I need to produce to be eligible for this competition?

With electronic music as an umbrella term for so many different sounds and styles, so is this competition's submission guidelines. Our Sample Breakdown video and Ninja Tune's playlist with their latest releases are good references for what you should aim to create. But there's always room for new sounds. So in short: Do you!

PRIZES

What can I win?

A cash prize of $10.000
Build your own studio, heavily upgrade your gear, or maybe use it as a marketing budget for your next project. This is the perfect boost to take your career to the next level (you are, of course, free to spend it however you'd like). Please note this prize is subject to taxes and currency exchange.

A release on Ninja Tune
The winner will be offered the opportunity to release their new song on, and get it promoted through, Ninja Tune (subject to signing a single release agreement)—a revered electronic music label, home to artists such as Bonobo, Bicep, Jayda G and many more. The fee to clear the sample will be $0 (as with most our plans, sample clearance upfront fees are included in your subscription), and the revenue share will follow our usual rates.

Tracklib Sample Breakdown promotion
Your winning track will get the full Sample Breakdown treatment, working with Tracklib's content team to create a stunning visual representation of how you flipped the sample. The Sample Breakdown videos usually get hundreds of thousands (and often millions) of views, so this video will be a huge boost for you as a producer—and for your release.

Lifetime VIP Max subscription to Tracklib
Being the winner of this competition, you are no doubt a talented producer and sample flipper. So we would love to welcome you as a VIP, and give you VIP support by a direct contact at Tracklib. With that comes a lifetime Max subscription for free—meaning you will never have to pay a dime again for samples and sample clearances.

How will my submission be judged?

A small team of curation professionals and producers, including from both Tracklib and Ninja Tune, will collaboratively and carefully judge all submissions. Entries will be considered predominantly on technical and artistic merit and production standards, the originality of your new song and the use of the sample in the new song.
