Introduction

Tracklib is the leading sample-licensing platform for music creators and producers. We offer a huge library of pre-cleared recordings from some of the world’s best artists and labels for sampling, allowing music producers to discover and license original music, effortlessly.

By doing so we have created a legal and straightforward route to sampling whilst creating substantial new revenue streams for rightsholders. Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Kaytranada, to name a few, have used Tracklib to discover and license original music in their new recordings, as have countless producers around the world.

How It Works: Tracklib typically offers sample licenses on a predetermined rate-card basis.

However: Our rate-card terms are not perfect for all customers.

The Result: Labels and publishers sometimes wrongly assume they simply can't obtain sample licenses via Tracklib.

The Solution: The Bespoke Clearance Model

This model is a solution designed to reduce the record royalty (payable by the licensee) so it aligns with certain artist-label deals, in return for a higher upfront fee. And, in some circumstances, a variation of the percentage of publishing rights attributed to the original publishers/writers in the new composition.

Key Benefits

For Labels

  • Bespoke Clearance Royalty rates fit existing label-artist deal structures.
  • Labels gain access to Tracklib’s pre-cleared tracks without high master side royalty concerns.
  • Add Tracklib to existing royalty processing systems.

For Artists

  • Maintains a significant artist royalty share.
  • Easy integration of sample fees into overall production costs.
