Competition
Royce da 5’9”’s latest and first self-produced album, The Allegory, gives away how much he appreciates the art of sampling. “Right now, I’m down a 1970’s soul sample rabbit hole,” he told Okayplayer upon the release of the—since then Grammy-nominated—album. Sampling 70s music by the likes of The Soul Children, Black Savage, Charlene, and Kool & the Gang on The Allegoryshows just that. Royce eventually found his way to Tracklib. “Tracklib allows me to go ‘digging’ with the best of them,” he told us. “It’s a smart platform that caters to your production style. We’re not worthy at the end of the day...”
It’s now your shot to collaborate with Royce da 5’9” on an official song. So head down Tracklib’s own rabbit hole of all-original music to sample, submit your beat, and you might be the one who we connect to Royce da 5’9” for a remote studio session.
“We’re gonna do it for the culture, man. We’re going to have fun with it. So please, put your best foot forward. I’m excited. Submit your most fire shit…”

It's free-for-all for this competition. Submit a beat using any sample(s) from Tracklib. Whether you use music from legends like Bob James or Isaac Hayes, dig into collections like ***Multi-Multi Track ***or Choppable Soul, or flip one of the gems recently sampled by BROCKHAMPTON, Kenny Beats, and ESTA. (for Joyce Wrice featuring Westside Gunn)—the choice is all yours. As long as your beat contains one or more Tracklib samples, you can enter this competition to record a song with the one and only Royce da 5'9".
Previous competitions with Redman, Styles P and Wu-Tang Clan’s Inspectah Deck led to thousands of submissions. So as advised by Royce da 5'9" himself in the video on top of this page: put your best foot forward for your most fire beat...
This competition is open until the end of the day, Sunday June 13th, 2021 (all timezones included).
Winners will be announced during the Fall of 2021.

With a career spanning twenty-plus years, Royce da 5’9” went on from an early Eminem collaborator to becoming a hip-hop phenomenon. Most recently with this year’s Grammy-nominated album, The Allegory, and the last ten years as part of PRhyme (with DJ Premier) and the now-defunct group Slaughterhouse (together with Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Kxng Crooked).
