We’re kicking off our new video series with an insane sample flip from one of the greatest to ever do it. How fast can you guess the artist and song? We reveal it at the end of the video.
This flip of “I Can’t Stand (To See You Cry)” by The Escorts (originally a track by The Whatnautsfrom 1973) is an illustrative example of how far you can take sample chopping. The breakdown shows how the producer deconstructs the song and rearranges it into a completely new structure. Even creating a new bass-line while he’s at it. This is truly the work of a master.
This is the first video in our new series of Sample Breakdown videos where we will be breaking down the sample flips from great songs and in a visual way illustrate how they were made. We only reveal the new song at the end of the video, so challenge your friends to see who knows the song first. Let us know in the comments which songs you would like us to break down in the future. And don't forget to subscribe to our Youtube Channel, so you won't miss the next one.
