Amar Quartet

String quartet ensemble based in Zurich.
On the occasion of [a=Paul Hindemith]'s 100th birthday in 1995, the Hindemith Institute in Frankfurt awarded the ensemble the historic name Amar Quartett. Hindemith co-founded in 1921 a string quartet, the [a=Amar-Quartett], named after its principal violinist, [a=Licco Amar].
