Artist
Originally hailing from West Kirby on the Wirral but now settled in Nottingham, Ben has been performing in a number of different bands and projects since the early 00s. Notably, he has had a number of stints as the fiddle player for Notts based pirate-folk-rock band Seas of Mirth and also alongside folk singer Will Jeffery (of 94 Gunships) in The Big Moose. Ben has long been a fan of folk and experimental music, citing Nick Drake, The Incredible String Band and early Pink Floyd as favourites. Ben released his first solo album Bird Stone in 2016 on Spheruleus' label Whitelabrecs. Mastered by Tim of Maps and Diagrams, this signalled the start of Bens ambient-folk music inspired by artists such as Richard Skelton and Groupa . This was followed up in 2017 by a brace of eps and an album, 1'000 Sewing Machines on Unknown Tone Records, featuring artwork by label owner Mark Kuykendall. In 2018 Ben released The Word Cricket Made Her Happy on French Label Eileen Rec.
