Leandro Piccioni

Italian composer, keyboardist and conductor.

He has composed some movie soundtracks like the TV series: Soffiantini Kidnapping, the Last Bullet, The Homicide Squad, Assunta Spina, Rebecca the First Wife. For the movies soundtrack "In Your Dreams" and "The Soul’s Haven", for which he received the Popular Jury Award at the Lagonegro film festival in 2003.
He has also orchestrated and conducted the non-original film score for "Lascia perdere Johnny" by Fabrizio Bentivoglio, receiving a nomination for the 2008 David di Donatello Prize for the song "Amore fermati".

He formed an important artistic alliance with director Carmelo Bene who took him, as his ‘esteemed musician’, to the Venice Biennial in 1989, the performance of Pentesilea at the Rome Teatro Olimpico in 1990 and Macbeth in the following years.

He has performed for a lot of Ennio Morricone's soundtracks, as Ripley's Game, Gino Bartali, The Provincial, Giovanni Falcone, Baaria and many others.
With Ennio Morricone he has done, from all over the world with the Rome Sinfonietta Orchestra, the Santa Cecilia Orchestra, the Moscow Radio Orchestra, the Spanish TV Madrid Orchestra and many others.

He has also played soundtracks by Nicola Piovani, Gianni Ferrio and Riz Ortolani, and has been collaborating as well as arranging and conducting with the Piccola Orchestra Avion Travel.
