Artist
Music was the cornerstone to SLMN‘s (sol-o-mon) upbringing in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He spent years learning to play the tenor saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, guitar, piano and drums. Finding a passion for the drums in particular, it led to him discovering FL studio and the language of music production.
The Toronto-based producer, who's signed to Sony Music Publishing, is someone who focuses on his production just as much as his personal artistry. SLMN’s breakout single "Too Much Time" garnered a total of 5 million streams across all platforms and raised the bar for late night R&B within the eclectic talent rich Toronto music scene. His follow up and debut EP "Late Bloomer" released in April 2020 showcased some of Toronto's best up and coming talent such as anders, TOBi, Jon Vinyl, along with international heavyweight and Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Elijah Blake.
SLMN is known for his large catalog of work with Toronto R&B stand-out anders, and has since secured placements with some of the industry's most notable talent, including Mariah Carey (“Caution”), Russ (“On The Way”), Lil Gnar & Lil Yachty (“Eastside”), Roy Wood$ (“Say Less”, “Shot Again”, “Glasses”) … it’s clear to see how SLMN is destined for success, as his production track record is lengthy.
SLMN's multi-instrumental approach to production helped him rise out of the talent-rich Toronto music scene with a distinct mood-altering melodic sound that speaks to fans on an international stage. He's developed an expert ability to set a variety of moods no matter what instrument he wields - guitars, keys, bass and synths weave in the background, with rich and emotive melodies taking the lead, carrying the listener through each musical pathway.
