Edition was founded in 2008 by the pianist and composer Dave Stapleton on two principles: to share music with a clear message and to do so in a bold way.

Today, Edition is a record label sitting at the centre of the global music scene, working with the same values it set out with, almost 15 years ago.

Having evolved from a cottage industry and self-releasing artist based label, Edition has built a deep authenticity and bold identity to its work with empathy and passion at its core.

Principally, Edition exists to amplify its artists’ vision under two distinct labels;

Edition Records – a leading, forward thinking and boundary pushing Jazz label.
E2 Music – a category defying, alternative label unified by mood and emotion.

We understand no one artist or album release is the same. Each has their own story and we exist to tell those stories.

Our own story is bound by the relationship between the label and the Artist.
